Explore Gorongosa
The beginning of May saw the start of luxury walking Safaris in the Gorongosa National Park. Explore Gorongosa is the first private operator in Mozambique's flagship National Park. Their safaris are unique in the sense that guests get the opportunity to explore the wild wonders in the park with professional guides, while being accommodated in a semi permanent tented camp. This venture is the first of its kind within the park, and a great opportunity to introduce the world to the visionary and extraordinary restoration project underway at Gorongosa. With excellent flight connections, it is quite easy to combine this walking safari with a relaxing Beach holiday at Benguerra Lodge. (These safaris are offered between May and December.)

Please contact us if you would like more information, or if you would like us to assist you with a costing for this completely Mozambican Bush and Beach experience.
An African evening to remember
As a new and truly African Experience, guests have been visiting the local Island Baracas (pubs) to experience the culture, the music and to just dance the night away.

The baracas are owned by Benguerra Island locals and provide the main source of social interaction and entertainment. They stock anything from washing powder, toothpaste and sweets to the traditional Tipotinto Rum, 2M Beer and Paradise Vodka. Music varies from Techno pop to local Mozambican rhythm and beats. Always loads of fun and great for a real African party!

RIGHT: Friendly service as always at Benguerra Lodge, as our assistant Manager Brian helps serve the drinks with the Baraca Manageress.
