the bush, the early morning game drives and the dry natural beauty of the African lands, what
is the perfect contrast to this experience? ... the cool, sparkling waters of Lake Malawi!
Relaxed lazy days on the beach, lush green islands, colourful tropical fish and clear, inviting
water make the perfect ending to a safari holiday.
Here Danforth lodge comes to the fore. Owner run, superb cuisine, perfect location, personal
attention and all the water sports available. Balance out your perfect holiday with both "bush
and beach".

In line with getting Majete Wildlife Reserve to be a Big 5 destination, African Parks has
recently reintroduced 2 leopards into the reserve. These are the first of a total of 8,
with the rest due to arrive before year end. 2012 will then see reintroduction of lions
thereby making this a Big 5 Reserve. We are all quite excited about this development and
looking forward to addition of the cats to our list of wildlife.
Ton de Rooy will be at WTM, please contact geno@robinpopesafaris.net

Chelinda Camp and Lodge: In an exciting development, National Park scouts reported seeing
four African wild dogs near Chelinda Hill, the next day they were seen running down and
killing a juvenile roan antelope near Chelinda Bridge. A few days ago, one wild dog was
spotted near Runyina Bridge on the alternative road out of Chelinda to Thazima. In 24 years
of visiting Nyika, Managing Director of Wilderness Safaris, Chris Badger is yet to have
seen wild dog in the park, making this a truly exceptional sighting.
Mvuu Camp and Lodge: At Mvuu Camp and Lodge, the first tell tale signs of the rainy season
are beginning to appear in the form of occasional afternoon clouds stretching over the
floodplains. The end of the dry season continues to draw multitudes of sable to the waterholes
in the ESOM sanctuary providing excellent sightings of this endangered species.
