All Wilderness Safaris camps were full over Christmas making it impossible to
compress the highlights but we'll try....
Mist over the high grasslands of Nyika after a spectacular afternoon storm,
mulled wine and carols by the fire at Chelinda Lodge, dancing on the beach at
Chintheche Inn, (followed by fireworks and waking up in the predawn light to
watch the fishermen come home with their catch), full moon over a glass smooth
lake at Mumbo Island, an evening counting shooting stars from the tent balcony,
bush dinners and breakfasts at Mvuu, stars and wonderful gameviewing at Mvuu
Lodge and Camp (including great black rhino sightings, striped polecat and 7
baby bushpigs).
The Wilderness Safaris team wishes everyone a very Happy New Year and look forward
to you visiting us at our properties in 2012.

Merry Christmas and Happy New year to everyone from the team at Satemwa!
Huntingdon House and Chawani Bungalow will be Closed From 15th January for
a Spring Clean and will open again fresh on the 10th just in time to get
stuck into what we are confident is going to be an exceptional 2012 for
Satemwa and Malawi in General. The quad bikes will be operational soon and
look out for our new collection of fine wines which is not too far away.
Thank you to everyone for your support in 2011. We look forward to filling

Very Warm Festive Season Greetings from the Ulendo Team. We assume everyone is well
rested and geared to take on 2012 with great might. 2011 was a great year for Ulendo
and look forward to watching the business grow in 2012. Already the prospects look
wonderful and we are pretty sure that Malawi is going to have a bumper Tourism year.
Our planned USA Marketing trips to promote Philanthropic Tourism this year are
imminent and a positive sign that we are prepared and ready to expand our product
range. Amongst other things we will be promoting more Flying Safaris at major travel
shows plus looking at expanding our footprint into Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Wishing
you and your families all the very best for the year ahead. The Ulendo Team

Well, the festive season truly lived up to its name at Danforth Yachting this Christmas
and New year - festive guests, festive times! Our New year eves party was themed "happy
pants and hippy hats". We purchased Malawian cotton Chitenje fabric and arranged for a
local tailor to make the now famous "Malawi Happy Pants" for everyone. We also organized
delightful frayed denim cowboy hats with the Malawi flag embroidered on the front.
Cocktails served in coconuts along with great music, all helped to get the party going.
So much fun and a wonderful way to welcome in 2012. May it be a successful and productive
year for everyone.
Breaking news is that the Cape Maclear road is now being tarred. Work is underway right
now transforming our previously bumpy and rutted dirt road into a sleek, smooth, tarred
surface. Wonderful!

We have started the year on an exciting note with introduction of two more leopards
this month in Majete Wildlife Reserve. Watch this space for further updates on Majete
becoming a Big 5 Reserve.
Still on the game front, one of our safari guides was out with some guests and saw a
caracal! Unfortunately no photographic evidence is at hand, but all the same a very
special sighting indeed. Guests are certainly up for an exciting year at Mkulumadzi.

Go shopping for curios, basket ware, jewellery and artwork in a lakeside
village. Some unique, quaint, creative work can be found in Malawi!

Sit by one of the waterholes on the high Nyika grasslands, wrap yourself up in a blanket, light a small fire and watch the eland coming down to drink at sunset.
