We've been busy with the pots of paint and our Honeymoon Suite at Huntingdon House - The Chapel Room - has been redecorated! This magnificent room, originally quarters to the resident priest at the old family home boasts its own fireplace with private dining areas inside or out. It really is a perfectly discreet and memorable getaway for those with any special occasion or who just want to get away and enjoy the serenity of Satemwa. Chawani Bungalow still holds its charm as well and both properties are ideal for a winter Getaway. To book any of these the email address is reservations@ulendo.net

Ulendo Airlink is proving to be a popular choice for Air Travel so far. In the month of August tickets can still be won if you fly with us. Many more exciting things happening in the coming few weeks as well which we will keep you informed about as they happen. We have a really good fly and stay deals to both Mfuwe and Makakola Reatreat running at the moment. Happy 10th Birthday Danforth! We've been up and running at Cape Maclear on the shores of Lake Malawi for a full decade! Looking back on our developments over the years, we're really proud of what we have achieved. Our latest addition is the upper deck above the water sports centre - a fabulous, quiet chill out deck with magnificent views out over the lake. Danforth is owner run by Howard and Michelle who are hands on to see to our guests every need. See trip advisor for our many 10 out of 10 rave reviews!

Mkulumadzi lodge has opened after 18 months of intense planning, preparations and building and it was with much excitement that we welcomed our first guests' mid-July. Guests have been enjoying productive game-drives, boat trips on the Shire and walks along the Mkulumadzi Rivers. We have also had a number of good sightings of black rhino at the nearby waterhole. Animals have been reclaiming their patch around the lodge; 3 elephant bulls, 1 old buffalo, a hyena, a porcupine, waterbuck and the resident hippo have all been through camp this week, no doubt happy to find that a new lodge has not changed their old stomping grounds too much.

It's a great time for birding at the lake right now, the weather is turning for the warmer and the leaves are falling off the trees making the prolific bird life much more visible. Out on the lake there are plenty of Yellow billed kites, often seen arguing amongst themselves wheeling and diving trying to catch fish at the surface, and competing with the Fish Eagles. The Fish Eagles prove more dominant though and make for some spectacular photographs around Thumbi Island and all along the lake shore. The lodge is also bustling with activity, Bohms bee-eaters swooping down from their perches to catch a Dragonfly or Grasshopper which is then consumed with great relish. Twinspots and Waxbills keep the ground level busy, hopping beneath the bushes and amongst the leaf litter. Then in the evenings an African Goshawk, perches around the lodge waiting hungrily for the insectivorous bats to take to the sky. From all of us here at Pumulani, we look forward to seeing you soon.

Charter the live-aboard yacht Mufasa and enjoy wonderful meals on board whilst exploring the wonders of Lake Malawi.
