Off the south east coast of equatorial Africa, in the balmy waters of the Indian Ocean, sits a beautiful tropical island chain called the Mascarene Islands – specifically; Reunion, Rodrigues and Mauritius Island. Maritius, in particular, has been, and still is, one of the most sought after isle getaways around. Known for its cosmopolitan flavour and mulch-cultural mix of Indian, French, Arab, English and Portugese, Mauritius is an inviting, exciting and refreshing place to holiday. Particularly for South Africans, who are only a short flight away from sipping Piña coladas on the edge of its turquoise shores.
Recently WildWeb were asked to design and build a website for a stunning Mauritian lodge called White Oaks Villa. White Oaks offers an array of gorgeous self-catering villas, superbly set on the beach, near the illustrious Grand Baie.
White Oaks came to us because their previous website was looking long in the tooth and it did not offer much in the way of visual appeal or functionality. Plus they heard that we were good at what we do !
They were looking for a much needed design upgrade – something that would reflect their bright, fresh and welcoming atmosphere and offer visitors to their website a call to action. For their look and feel we accomplished this with a generous use of imagery. The slideshow at the top of the website, as well as the gallery page, offers striking portraits of their rooms and breath-taking location. In the background, we complimented their wonderful imagery with the use of marine and light colours.
When it comes to offering visitors a purpose of visiting the website, the most critical part, we built a handy reservations page for them. On the reservations page we incorporated a sophisticated calendar that will pull and display White Oaks’ room availabilities, in real time. This is supported by a date selector which allows visitors to rifle through the calendar and, if they chose to, shoot off a provisional booking, in the enquiry form.
